Garth Fell Seeks Snohomish County Auditor Position in 2019

Everett, WA – Today Snohomish County Elections Manager Garth Fell announced that he will run in 2019 to be the next Snohomish County Auditor. The County Auditor oversees elections, recording, licensing and animal services.

“I would be honored to serve as County Auditor and continue to lead the Auditor’s Office in providing professional, efficient, customer-focused elections, recording, licensing and animal services,” said Garth.

Garth is a national and state certified elections administrator with 20 years of management experience running elections. Through his leadership, Garth’s teams have been recognized with national honors for mail ballot processing and voter outreach efforts.

Garth has worked in county elections administration through five presidential elections, two census redistricting efforts and numerous recounts. He is a seasoned professional with a reputation in Snohomish County and across the state as an unbiased, independent, non-partisan expert committed to transparency in elections and government services.

“Garth is an experienced, proven, professional dedicated to making local government responsive, transparent and accessible for Snohomish County residents. He understands the complexities of county government and his experience in administering local, state and federal elections is unmatched,” said current County Auditor, Carolyn Weikel, whose term is up in 2019.

In addition to serving as Elections Manager, Garth took on additional responsibilities during the financial downturn by serving for seven years as Recording Manager for the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office. Garth has been instrumental in building a continuous improvement culture, is a valued member of the leadership team and plays an integral role in the annual budget process within the Auditor’s Office.

Garth is a graduate of the University of Washington, is a member of the Rotary Club of Everett, has coached youth basketball, and serves in his local church. Garth is married, has three adult children and an active Pomeranian. A long-time county resident, Garth lives in the Meadowdale area in south Snohomish County.
